Knowing God through Jesus

Jesus came to earth so that we could know God. Jesus taught us about God's unconditional love and his desire for our lives. Jesus was able to sacrifice his life so we can know the God he knows. God sent Jesus so we could know how to live and love. We are all born in sin, and sin seperates us from God. Sin is our self will to not wak with God. Through Jesus the gulf of mans sin is bridged and we can know God's love and God's plan for our life. Understanding God's unconditional love for our life and his very unique plan for each one of us, we can begin to shift our identity from the ego to the eternal life. We can begin to change our narrative and our way of thinking. We can begin to experience a life of peace and joy.

John 15: 9-11 9) As the Father has love me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love 10). If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11) I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

How to begin to change our narrative?

To be more Christ like we must change our narrative and the way we think. To change the way we think, we need to understand how our life experiences have influenced our way of thinking. We must examine what our life narratives have taught us and how they have influenced how we view life. The ego is our personality developed life experiences. The soul is our true self that has not been influence by others and life circumstances. It is the purity of God's love that fills us with love, peace and joy! It is the bridge between our ego and our soul that houses our spirit.

To connect with the spirit is a strong desire in all of us. To find happiness, true joy. and contentment is something we all search for. However many search for love, peace, and joiy in the ego when it can only be found deep within the soul of our spirit.

A relationship with Christ provide us with greater wisdom, power, and love that our limited ego can not provide. A relationship with Christ nourished our soul and connects us to our true spirit that is our vessel of true joy, love, peace and happiness.

Once we begin to rethink our journey and we change our narrative, life becomes less stressful even when we had to deal with the every day challenges it brings. We can begin to learn and rethink how to live in joy, peace and love as God intended for us!

A book that I recommend reading to help better understand how the ego influences how we think:
Guilt is the Teach Love is the Lesson by Joan Borysenko, PHD

How Do I become Like Christ?

How do I become like Christ? How do I change? Jesus came to earth so we could know how to live a more peaceful and purposeful life. Jesus came to teach us how to love unconditionally and to show us that we can trust him for all of our needs. Who doesn't want to live a peaceful and purposeful life? Who doesn't want to have all their needs met?
However, since we are born sinners, we must learn how to think differently to absorb what Jesus came to teach us. It is not any easy answer and all of our life experiences influence what we learn. Are brains are wired to think narratively and we are taught many false narratives by others on earth, our parents, our teachers, our spouses, our friends, our church members. But the only true narrative is what Jesus taught us. Follow me on this blog as we rediscover how to change our narrative to think like Jesus. How we can let go of our ego to discover our soul.

(Resource for this post comes form The book The Good and Beautiful God. James Bryan Smith) I highly recommend this book
