When I worked for St. Jospeh's Hospice, Sister Chris gave us all a book mark. A prayer that said "Be Still and LIsten to God".
When I exerienced a very trying time in my life, when I wanted to shout out with my anger, this prayer came to mind. I layed in bed that night and prayed to God. I heard him tell me it would be okay. I heard him tell me not to react by lashing out to those that hurt me As the storm raged inside of me, it was difficult not to react negatively. But I continued to listen and the storm began to calm. I began to see sunshine peek out from the dark clouds. I could begin to see that God had a better plan for me. I just need to be still and wait and listen. God knows that we will have difficult days. He is there for us. He will carry us through the storms. But it is up to us to be still and listen for His guidance.
